HAUNTED BLUES [NOIR POETRY 365]
[HAUNTED BLUES]
the hole won't shut up
he keeps stuffing things in it
to make the singing stop
old poetry books too real to reread
soft cruel gloves used for stifling flames
withered flowers from a garden
he has long forgotten to feed
a pair of kind stinking carpet slippers
his second favorite purple pen
the hole eats it all and keeps singing
a haunting ballad in a foreign language
the meaning of which he wishes
could truly get lost in translation
