NOIR POETRY 365 DAY 010 | POEM #012

[THE WAITING]

clenching

unclenching

cravings

savouring

the dread

he wants her

to yank his

wings

slow burn

the halteres

shred his

useless self

clench

unclench

at will

make him die

born again

crooked martyr

▪️▪️▪️

Inspired by “I'll Be Waiting,” a short story by Raymond Chandler.
